1974, when I got my license.

What are your goals in contesting?

Doing and giving my best in every contest, single-op or multi-op, with the setup available.

Which are your favorite contests and why?

All the contests that I’m able to operate, single-op or multi-op. Especially those with potential for big pileups, like ARRL DX, WPX, RDXC, IARU, IOTA, SAC, CQWW… both CW and SSB.

Most memorable Contest, explain why:

As a teenager, the very first SAC M/S operations from OH6AC in early 70’s. (Remember, Veijo? :-)

Winning SAC M/S CW + SSB 1976 from my home station OH6UM, together with Veijo OH6KN.

Winning SAC 1979 M/S and SAC 1981 M/M and beating all the old big guns as OH6AH/OH6AM (now OH6M) “from the bushes” (portable qth, unknown gang, etc.).

The first CQWW M/S operations from and with OH6JW/OH6DX in late 70’s / early 80’s. Winning my first SAC SOAB CW and SSB from OH2BH/OH0BH in early 80’s.

CQWW 1992 SSB 20m OH2BH / 2.WW / EU winner (EU record)

Winning SO 20m Europe 4 times from Arcala in 2005 as OH6KN: ARRL DX CW (1.WW) + SSB (2.WW), CQWW CW + SSB.

Winning SO 20m CW Europe (2.WW) from Arcala as OH8X in ARRL DX CW 2006 with a new European record.

Winning the OH0’s from mainland OH in any international contest. It feels always great. :-)

Personal Contest improvement target areas:

Getting the best out of SO2R one day.

Other interests in Life:

Socializing, city travelling (much too seldom though), wine, food.
